I doubt I'm going to go past 50, but I thought I'd keep track of all the movies I watch (fully) this year anyway with this meme that's been floating around.

Rules:
  1. I watch 100 movies or more in 2009.
  2. I keep track of how many I watch in this post.
  3. I only record first-time movies.
  4. If you want to recommend any movies to me, go for it.

Updated: April 18. I am so not going to reach fifty at this rate.
  1. Penelope (2006 | Christina Ricci, James McAvoy, Catherine O' Hara, Reese Witherspoon | Director: Mark Palansky). I have mixed feelings about this movie. )
  2. Napoleon Dynamite (2004 | Jon Heder | Director: Jared Hess). The opening credits were pretty much the only things I enjoyed. )
  3. The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008 | Brad Pitt, Cate Blanchett | Director: David Fincher). I LOVED THIS. )
  4. Lolita (1962 | James Mason, Sue Lyon, Shelley Winters, Peter Sellers | Director: Stanley Kubrick). Considering the shitload of things that had to be cut out to get past the censors, this version was pretty faithful to the book. )
  5. The Blossoming of Maximo Oliveros (Ang Pagdadalaga ni Maximo Oliveros) (2005 | Nathan Lopez | Director: Auraeus Solito) Before anything else, I admit to having zero knowledge of local cinema. )
  6. Hallam Foe (2007 | Jamie Bell, Sophia Myles, Ciaran Hinds, Claire Forlani | Director: David Mackenzie) They say that those who need love the most deserve it the least. )
  7. Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist (2008 | Michael Cera, Kat Dennings | Director: Peter Sollett) TAKE ME TO NEW YORK NOW. )
  8. Slumdog Millionaire (2008 | Dev Patel, Freida Pinto | Director: Danny Boyle) I'm writing this right after watching the Oscars, and I have to say that this film deserved everything it got. )
  9. Valkyrie (2008 | Tom Cruise | Director: Bryan Singer) Honestly, even if I was really excited for this movie to come out, I was expecting it to suck. )
  10. Stardust (2007 | Claire Danes, Charlie Cox, Sienna Miller, Michelle Pfeiffer, Robert de Niro | Director: Matthew Vaughn) Not much to say about this one, really. )
  11. Frost/Nixon (2008 | Frank Langella, Michael Sheen | Director: Ron Howard) Don't watch this film in an airplane. )
  12. Vicky Cristina Barcelona (2008 | Rebecca Hall, Scarlett Johansson, Javier Bardem, Penélope Cruz | Director: Woody Allen) I need to watch an old Woody Allen film to understand why people say that his latest ones don't live up to the rest. )

I just realized I haven't properly acknowledged the one sad thing about summer: people leaving. And not just the ones leaving for the States or whatever for the summer, but the ones who are going off to college and never coming back. So. Goodbye to the ones I liked. And good riddance to the ones I didn't.
